Wantable is an online personal stylist subscription service. They offer several different options, including “try before you buy” in either “Style” or “Fitness” and three monthly surprise boxes in “Makeup,” “Accessories”, and “Intimates.” They offer items that fall under two key themes, “Lounge Wear” and “Lingerie”, for a cost of $50/mo with free shipping and a $4 credit every month you keep everything.
You can see all my Wantable reviews here.
There’s a fairly detailed style profile that includes your sizes in various items and the option to mark specific things either “Love,” “Like,” or “Dislike” with the idea that they will send more of the things you love and none of the things you dislike (so you can get lots of lounge wear and socks but only some bras and no panties, for example). There’s also a small field where you can write in additional notes that may not have been covered (like “no shorts”).
I said I love lounge wear and dislike lingerie. Here’s what I got:
Dreamwave Pajama Long Sleeve Tunic, $28 Love this! I wouldn’t normally choose a near-white tunic but this one is comfy and fits well. It’s a lightweight sweatshirt material, and roomy enough to wear a layer underneath. Also it’s long enough to truly wear as a tunic/covers my bum, so that’s awesome.
Dreamwave Pajama Dot Leggings, $22 Love! I don’t have many patterned leggings, and these are super cute with the above tunic. They’re also totally long enough on me, which is a happy bonus.
Chinese Laundry Over-the-Knee Socks, $15 These are okay. They fit well and are cute, but I wear tall socks mostly as boot socks, and these aren’t quite right for that. I’ll use them though, somehow. (Also I misplaced my invoice before I recorded the value of these, so making a guestimate based on other Chinese Laundry socks I found online).
Total value: $65
Summary: Not a bad month. The socks are a miss but I like the two larger items, so it’s overall still good. A little disappointed in the declining monthly values — even if I estimated low on the socks it’s still one of the lowest total values I’ve had — especially after their recent price increase and “premium brands” promise (I’ve been getting Dreamwave Pajama products since way back). The value is still there (especially since I’m still on the old price plan).
