Wantable-Review-JulyWantable is an online personal stylist subscription service. They offer several different options, including “try before you buy” in either “Style” or “Fitness” and three monthly surprise boxes in “Makeup,” “Accessories”, and “Intimates.” The cost is $40 per month, with free shipping and a $4 credit every month you keep everything (which makes the next month $36).

Promising a mix of everything from bras and underwear to lingerie, shapewear, and socks, I picked the Intimates box as a birthday present from my hubby, mostly as an indulgence but partly out of necessity also — my undies and sock drawer could use some serious refreshing!

The subscription costs $40 for the first month, $36 thereafter, and promises 3-4 items per box.

Wantable-Review-July-openedI’m a sucker for well-packaged, personalized boxes and Wantable hit the mark. From the “Lovely to see you, Gorgeous!” welcome banner to a little “Packaged especially for…” sticker and personalized paperwork, it was like opening a gift made just for me. :)

Wantable-Review-July-Unboxing

There’s a fairly detailed style profile that includes your sizes in various items and the option to mark specific types either “Love,” “Like,” or “Dislike.” The categories are lounge wear, bras, panties, lingerie, shape wear, tights/leggings, hosiery, and socks. You’ll receive more of the things you love and none of the things you dislike (so you can get lots of lounge wear and socks but no shape wear, for example). There’s also a small field where you can write in additional notes.

So, on to the goods. First up: blue undies!

Wantable-Review-July-UndiesYummie Joline Bikini OS in Corydallis Blue from Yummie by Heather Thomson, $12 Like! Simple, but nice. They’re a OS and they do fit. Not exciting in the least but super useful, and honestly just what I need at the moment.

Wantable-Intimates-Review-July-BraReal Underwear Daphne Bralette in Vapor Blue from Real Underwear, $32 So pretty! But unfortunately not something I’ll ever wear. Soft bras like this just don’t work for me. Happily, Wantable has a surprisingly painless return policy and this bra went back in exchange for almost half off my next box (see below for details).

Wantables-Review-Intimates-RomperRomper in Grey from Dreamwave Pajama Drama, $28 Interesting… and I think I love it. Long-sleeved waffle-knit PJs are somewhat of an odd choice for a July clothing box, but come this fall I think I’m totally gonna be rompering it up.

My Return: I’m not usually one to test return policies (I can count the number of things I’ve returned in my life on one hand) but for some reason I did try it this time and it was almost shockingly easy. Wantable handles returns by assigning each item a “Your Price” value in addition to the retail value. The “Your Price” is what you’ll get back if you return an item. For example the Daphne Bralette’s retail value is $32 but it’s “Your Price” was $17.78.

Returns are free but you have to email them to set it up and get a prepaid shipping label. I emailed them about the Bralette on a Tuesday and they responded less than 2 hours later with a cheerful note and printable return label. I sent the package out with my mailman the next morning (Wednesday), they received it two days later (Friday) and credited my account for $17.78 that same day (also Friday). WOW. My return from beginning to end took a grand total of 3 days. Can’t beat that.

Because my box was a gift I chose to receive store credit, otherwise returns credit cash directly back to the original source of payment.

Summary: The total value of this box is $72, which is good for the $40 price tag. I feel like I got a nice mix of items that fit well with the profile information I filled out, and the one thing that really didn’t work was returned easily and became a credit for almost half off my next box. I call it a hit!
