This morning the neighborhood was filled with Robins singing their spring tunes. A wonderful sound after a very cold winter! Seemingly overnight they arrived in force (there was one that came back on the 29th of January but decided it was a mistake and took off south again to wait out the brutally cold temps — good decision!) and although it’s early they brought with them warm temps and lots of sun, which is quickly melting the still deep snow drifts. I never worry about what they will eat with the ground still covered since the crabapples are full of perfectly aged little apples, a life saving part of their diet this early in the year. Welcome home Robins!!
