In Japanese culture socks are huge, as they take their shoes off when entering a home as a sign of respect. It is one of the two most requested items by the people there in need (the other is undergarments), so if you thought there wasn’t much you could do… this could be it. Sending socks is easy and inexpensive, and it’s something that goes a long way towards making someone feel better. And they need that now.
