Remington’s line of Cool Style dryers are a refreshing pop of fun, energetic color in a world of otherwise drab and industrial options. Cool Style dryers are by no means expensive but in my opinion when it comes to hair dryers spending more doesn’t necessarily get you more. After all the main function of a hair dryer is pretty basic: blow hot air.
That’s not to say features aren’t important, however, and this model comes stocked with all the essentials including ionic conditioning, 3 heat settings, 2 speeds, and a cool shot button. It also has a ceramic grill, a removable air filter on the rear, and a handy little loop for hanging.
What I like about it:
- It’s lightweight and on the small side but has more than enough power.
- The removable air filter is made with a very small grid pattern, which means it can actually trap dust particles and not just sit there for show and let them all through to get stuck in the second, non-removable filter (like my other, more expensive, dryer does).
- The design and color pattern is nicely done and quite attractive.
What I didn’t like:
- Nothing really. It would be nice if the cord were retractable but basically it’s a great little machine.
My test model came in the black paisley print shown above (which I love) but several others are available. They really are a nice touch for people like me who (despite good intentions) leave the dryer sitting out on the countertop more often than not (so it might as well look good, right?). The Remington Cool Shots line is available exclusively at Target for right around $19.99.
