Experts say money is better spent on experiences than material possessions so what better way to spend your summer vacation than getting out on the water and watching thousands of chubby Beluga whales frolicking in the water?
The Great Canadian Travel Company is offering a special “Churchill Beluga Whale Tour” vacation package this summer that runs for 6 days and 5 nights and, among other things, includes a boat tour to the mouth of the Churchill River where thousands upon thousands of Beluga whales congregate as part of their normal migration routine along the Hudson.
Belugas are small (for a whale), friendly, and curious, and nicknamed “sea canaries” because they’re so vocal — the tour boats even come equipped with special onboard hydro phones to amplify their songs and communications.
The Churchill Beluga Whale Tour is a package deal and includes:
- Two separate boat tours to view pods of Beluga whales, including the option to kayak or snorkel with them
- A half-day guided tundra buggy tour through the Canadian wilderness
- An interpretive tour of the historic Fort Prince of Wales
- A cultural and historical tour of the town of Churchill
The package also includes round-trip airfare between Winnipeg and Churchill and 5 nights hotel accommodations, all for $1975 per person. Tours begin July 2nd and run through August.
