British designer Katharine Hamnett has launched her first beachwear collection titled “Save the Sea” and it’s available exclusively at YOOXYGEN. Known for her ecological awareness the collection features pieces for both men and women and includes one-piece swimsuits, bikinis, totes, beach cover-ups, and towels.

Katharine found inspiration in the glamour and sensuality of the 1950s and 60s and the result is ultra-feminine but not necessarily ultra-exposed. Everything is made of 100% organic and renewable materials.

Loose, flowing cover-ups and low cut legs (she said in an interview she finds high-cut swimsuits very unflattering) are more forgiving than most beachwear without sacrificing style.

And of course the blaring message calling everyone to do their part for the world’s oceans can’t be missed.

“I called this collection SAVE THE SEA, as the sea we all love is dying. It’s important as consumers and people with the right to vote to be aware of the facts so we can do whatever is possible to save it.” ~Katharine Hamnett
