Tomorrow is the first day of March and it promises to come in like a lamb — mild and sunny and possibly even in the 50’s! March is a month of changing, wild weather swings, wind, the earliest of daffodils and tulips, Irish blessings, sweet Spring rains, short lived snow squalls, more people walking outside again, pruning, garden cleanup, window sills filled with garden starts, spring breezes coming through open windows, wild stormy clouds, going from heavy coats and winter gear to light jackets, spring tonics, mud everywhere, geese flying north, losing your appetite for heavy winter recipes and opting for fresh and healthy instead, bird songs, planning your garden in earnest, planting peas, sitting in the warm sunshine… outside!
“The stormy March is come at last
With wind, and cloud, and changing skies
Yet though thy winds are loud and bleak,
Though art a welcome month to me.”
