Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service: for $10/mo you get a small makeup bag filled with a mix of about 5 products, mostly samples but often 1 or 2 full-sized options.
Not all Ipsy bags are exactly the same — there is a basic customization process based on a short style questionnaire that further evolves as you review and rate the products you receive.
I started in June so this is my second “Glam Bag.” Here’s what I got:
Coolway Beachy Salt Spray, 0.5 oz, $2 Love this for encouraging my natural waves, and it does a good job. Only issue is it makes my hair a crunchy to the touch. Doesn’t look crunchy, however.
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 eyeliner and shadow in Bronze, full size, $16 This one was almost a win! The color is just a little too warm for me, but I love eyeliners, and I love eyeliners that are soft enough to smudge and double as shadow.
Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Balm in French Kiss, Full size, $14 Love it! It’s a perfect, pale pink, and it’s handy to have it lip balm form. I used to wear lip gloss religiously and have gotten out of the habit — this is perfect for getting me back in (plus I feel super chic pulling the black tube out of my bag).
Eau Thermale Avène Gel Soapless Cleanser, 0.84 oz, $2.50 Love. I’m always up for gentle face cleansers and this one is soap-free, paraben-free, and suitable for sensitive skin. I doubt I’ll be buying it anytime soon (too pricey for me at $20/full size) but it was fun to use for several days — and I do think it helped reduce blemishes.
tarte deluxe Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer, full size, $30 I like this, in theory. Haven’t used it yet, but have high hopes that I will soon. I think bronzer is an effective way to look sun-kissed without actually getting any sun/damage, but am out of the loop with how to use it exactly so will have to do some research, hopefully before summer is over!
July Makeup Bag It’s cute! I like this bag better than the June one. It’s a canvas material, the side zipper is interesting, and the bright colors are fun and much more summery than the plain black of last month.
Total value = $64, which is awesome for the $10 price tag (and that doesn’t include the makeup bag). Overall I think this was a fun mix this month! The lip balm and beach spray were my favorites, and I have high hopes for the bronzer.
And that’s that! If you decide to give Ipsy a try use this link and give me a few referral points while you’re at it. :)
