Sometimes we feel we are helpless to make a difference, living so close to the edge ourselves. But the smallest “good deed” grows into a mountain of positive results, results perhaps we are never aware of. Just like this little scene, one person who brings needed help may have been enabled to do so by a multitude that gave in very small ways. And truly they all were there in spirit with the one that went physically. And never underestimate the little things, like a smile. There are plenty of stressed, unhappy people walking around that need something as simple as that to feel better about life. So do good deeds, no matter how tiny, they are worth more than you will ever know.
“It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little — do what you can.” ~Sydney Smith
