Disney Golden Oak is a luxury community being developed at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. You can essentially live at Disney World.
The concept is simple: there are three neighborhoods of homes (small, medium, and large) set inside a gated community on a total of 980 acres at Walt Disney World. You buy a lot of your choice within the community and build a fully-customizable house on it (within a few pre-established guidelines, of course) including the option of having it fully LEED certified. Square footages range from 2,700 to 7,000 and values range between $1.4 and $8 million, depending on location and customizations. And the best part? Living in Golden Oak qualifies you to become a Disney VIP and receive special VIP passes to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, discounts on merchandise, and numerous other perks like door-to-park transportation (a VIP guide will come pick you up in a town car and take you where ever you want to go) and a “the skies the limit” approach to arranging special requests and services.
I just returned from visiting the park and the homes and “living like a Disney VIP” for a day (I’m dead center, in the blue) and not only are the properties truly beautiful but the VIP experience is a real treat. Below are a few images of the Golden Oak homes that we visited (click any image to enlarge) and you can see more at disneygoldenoak.com.
