Everywhere the wild violets (both tolerated and loved by my grandmother) are beginning to bloom just in the last couple of days.

Well they warned us, but it didn't look like the snow would get this far east here in Nebraska and we would have all rain. But no. It is really coming down out there and actually accumulating! So even though it's kind of beautiful... it's covering up my newly sprouted peas in the garden and I'm fighting back! With virtual ...

Go spring dandelion picking (they're already popping up in my yard) and make a salad!

One steady burst of sunshine through the clouds and all this snow will melt in an hour. Come on sunshine!

It's hard to believe it but winter is officially over now and porch weather has returned once again.

Tomorrow is the first day of March and it promises to come in like a lamb.

A lot of browns in the garden right now but here and there tough perennials are showing some green.
